Common Vision and ParticipACTION Physical Activity Toolkits
July 19, 2018
The Common Vision document and ParticipACTION Physical Activity Toolkits are resources to guide the increase of physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviours among all Canadians across their lifetime
A Common Vision For Increasing Physical Activity and Reducing Sedentary Living In Canada: Let’s Get Moving! Is a document that was created to respond to the call by the World Health Organization (WHO) for Member States to develop national policies in keeping with the WHO Global Action Plan for Physical Activity released at the 71st World Health Assembly, held May 23, 2018, in Geneva, Switzerland.
ParticipACTION Physical Activity Toolkits provide educational resources, ideas and guidelines specific to three different age groups:
- The Early Years Toolkit will help parents and caregivers find ways to incorporate physical activity into the daily lives of children up to age four.
- The Teen Toolkit is designed for children and youth ages five to 17.
- The Older Adult Physical Activity Toolkit provides resources related to the importance of physical activity for older adults.
