The Town of Clarenville is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the full time permanent position of Recreation Manager. This position is responsible for the planning, and managing recreation programs including the day to day physical management of the Clarenville Events Centre, Bill Davis Chalet, parks, playgrounds and related services offered by the Town of Clarenville. The Recreation Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the recreation policies of Council are carried out in a professional, effective and efficient manner. The position is responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep, maintenance and repair to ensure uninterrupted services and quality facilities are provided to user groups. Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner are essential for this position.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications; successful completion of post secondary education at the university or college level in recreation, background and knowledge in recreational facilities operation and management, three years experience at the management level, knowledge of financial management and accounting and strong interpersonal skills.
