The Community Recreation Development Grant funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, Recreation and Sport Division assists communities to provide accessible, inclusive recreation, active living and leisure programs while promoting the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle. It also helps communities develop the capacity of communities, groups and organizations to plan and deliver these programs and services and make them a part of health promotion nad disease prevention.
Eligible applicants must have the following:
-Non-profit* in nature;
-Designated as a recreation committee or a department of an incorporated community or local service district of a community with a population of 6,000 or less;
-An elected, incorporated recreation association or committee in a local service district or unincorporated community with a population of 6,000 or less.
The deadline to submit an application is May 31st, 2010.
