Provincial Annual Awards Program

The annual presentation of awards reflects Recreation NL’s commitment to celebrate and publicly recognize professionals, service groups and volunteers in recreation. The awards are presented in conjunction with the Recreation NL provincial conference, at the Annual Awards Banquet.
The awards are:
INCLUSION AWARD
Bridging the Gap Award – Presented for the purpose of recognizing an individual, group, program or facility that has furthered the inclusion of persons with a disabilities within the area of recreation, sport and active living.

HIGH FIVE AWARD
HIGH FIVE Leadership Award – Honors an outstanding registered organization who has supported and inspired the implementation of HIGH FIVE, and acknowledges the impact this registered organization has made in helping to ensure quality recreation and sport for children.

Please note, The HIGH FIVE award will not be awarded in 2019
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AWARDS
Active Communities Award – Recognizes the achievements of communities who have worked to identify and create facilities, open spaces and opportunities for people to be active and engaged in their communities.
Teen Challenge Youth Leadership Award – Recognizes and celebrates young leaders who are driving change towards a more active lifestyle, inspiring and motivating their peer’s involvement in physical activity.

RECREATION PRACTITIONER AWARD
Cy Hoskins Memorial Award of Merit – Presented to a full time recreation practitioner who has made significant contributions to the growth and development of recreation.

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION AWARDS
Volunteer of the Year – recognizes a volunteer for their outstanding efforts and invaluable contributions to the development of recreation.
Volunteer Group of the Year – Presented to a volunteer Group for their outstanding efforts and invaluable contributions to the development of recreation.
