The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has teamed up with ParticipACTION and Recreation Newfoundland and Labrador, to provide communications and engagement initiatives to motivate, educate, and enable citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador to increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviours.
This partnership consists of various components including:
- Development of tools and resources to assist in promoting the Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for the Early Years (0-4) as well as Children and Youth (5-17).
- Development of tools and resources to support physical activity for the older adult population.
- Ongoing digital mini-campaigns focused on assisting Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to overcome specific barriers related to being active such as too much screen time, sedentary workplaces, safety, etc.
Let’s sit less and move more Newfoundland and Labrador!
