June is Recreation Month!
Since 2005 June has been proclaimed as Recreation and Parks Month. June Is Recreation Month is a growing national campaign that provides a great opportunity to draw attention to the important benefits and values of recreation to individuals, families, neighborhoods, and communities. "Just For The Fun Of It!" is Newfoundland and Labradors new theme, which was created to express the need to embrace and participate in recreation programs just for the fun of it.
This campaign creates a greater awareness about the importance of recreation in communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. With the help of a developed school and community toolkit, we hope that individuals will take the time to embrace this campaign and reinforce how fun recreation really is!
