Playground Course (Full Day)
An Introduction to Playground Safety
Course Description:
This Playground Course" is recommended for persons who are responsible for the safety issues and standards related to public playgrounds. The course is designed to meet the needs of most groups requiring this type of training. This one-day (6 hour) program will provide a comprehensive introduction to playground safety for the participants and allow sufficient time for discussion on the topic materials presented.
Who Should Attend?:
Recreation facility managers, parks and recreation staff/volunteers and others who work with playground related programs will benefit from this course.
Course Objectives::
- To provide an introduction to the elements of playspace hazard and injury reduction.
- To familiarize participants with the Canadian Standards Association's (CSA) "CAN/CSA Z614-03, Children's Playspaces and Equipment" standards.
- To provide information identifying potential hazards, as defined by the CSA standard and understanding the requirements and procedures once a hazard has been identified.
- To provide an introduction to the skills necessary related to the operation of public playspaces.
Playground Seminar (Half Day)

Seminar Description:
This "Playground Seminar" is recommended for persons who wish to familiarize themselves with the safety issues and standards related to public playgrounds. The workshop can be tailored to meet the needs of most groups requiring this type of training.
Who Should Attend?:
Playground supervisors/leaders, childcare workers, community volunteers, teachers, parents, school custodians and others who work with playground related programs.
Seminar Objectives::
